RCMP made a large seizure of drugs, weapons, and stolen goods from a Sylvan Lake home last week after tracking down a pair of stolen trucks from outside the city.
Officers executed a search warrant at a home in Richfield Crescent after locating two stolen trucks from Lacombe and Westlock nearby. That’s where officers say they found the following:
- 10 Firearms including shotguns, hand guns, an “Uzi” style assault rifle, and ammunition
- Brass knuckles, hatchets, and a tomahawk
- Morphine and other prescribed pills, methamphetamine, and mushrooms
- Cash, stolen credit cards, IDs, mail, and a license plate
41-year-old Jason Sagal of Sylvan Lake, 35-year-old Jason William Ionson of Blackfalds, 26-year-old Samantha Casimer Johnstone of Red Deer, and 31-year-old Nicole Rae Armstrong of Sylvan Lake face numerous charges and Sylvan Lake RCMP anticipate more to be added. Sagal, Ionson, and Casimer were scheduled to appear in Red Deer court today, while Armstrong is scheduled to appear in court on September 7.
Less than 24 hours after the original bust, officers responded to the same Richfield Crescent home after reports of a man with a gun. 21-year-old Jesse Kaelin Strongeagle-Geddes and 34-year-old Kristie Lynn Stauth, both of Red Deer, face multiple charges including possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a firearm. They are both scheduled to appear in court on September 7.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Sylvan Lake RCMP at 403-858-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. (djs)
