Tickets were made available Monday afternoon for a free self-guided tour of Rogers Place on September 10th, and if you want to go, you’d best act quickly.
Oilers Entertainment Group VP of Corporate Communications Tim Shipton says in just two hours almost half of the available tickets were spoken for. With so much interest in the new barn, they’ve got to find a way to get as many people in as possible.
“What we’ve done is offered tickets on the hour. We expect a tour to last approximately 60 minutes, if people are really excited maybe as long as 90 minutes. So, every hour a wave of people will come into the building, will see it first hand, will talk through on self-guided tours.”
Shipton says staff will be stationed throughout the facility to answer questions. A souvenir booklet will be on hand with maps to guide the visitors through the more than 600 million dollar complex.
Shipton adds this is a great opportunity to take the LRT into the downtown core. He says there are only 18,000 parking spots in the blocks surrounding Rogers Place, so if you’re planning on driving down, it’s a good idea to book your parking spot using the Rogers Place mobile app.
