Congratulations to our Corus Radio sister station, CISN Country 103.9!
Three of the on air personalities, along with the station itself, picked up some hardware at the Canadian Country Music Awards in London, Ont.
The first award went to the morning show, comprised of Chris Scheetz, Jacqueline Sweeney and Matt DeBeurs, as they picked up “Personalities Of The Year” honours in a major market.
On Saturday night, the station won the major market country music “Radio Station Of The Year”.
Scheetz says the recognition the station receives is all because of their listeners.
“The Stollery Children’s Hospital Radiothon, where we raise $1.3 million thanks to our listeners, helps every year. And then there was the Feed The Fort campaign, where we filled up nine semi-trailers with food to head up to Ft. McMurray after the wildfires. These are just a couple of examples of how involved CISN Country is in the community, all because of the support we get from our incredible and loyal listeners.”
The other key to the station’s success, Scheetz believes, is by continually improving what they do on the air, as well as when they’re out in the community.
