The City has been encouraging you to give your yard a more natural look.
But one person who recently tried it, ended up with a visit from bylaw officers.
It appears one person’s “natural” is another person’s “eyesore.”
So council has voted unanimously to have bylaw and drainage officials draw up some rules around natural yards.
Meanwhile, a second motion by Councillor Bryan Anderson will have the city examining its own naturalization efforts.
He doesn’t think its fair homeowners get tickets for patches of solid thistle and dandelions, when the city has its own issues with that.
Reports on both issues are expected to come back to committee for debate. (td)
