Someone has stolen $50,000 worth of copper wire from the Alta-Fab Structures industrial yard, at 9th Avenue in Nisku.
The Mounties say they learned of the break and enter, and theft, on Friday; adding it took place sometime after Wednesday.
But whoever stole the copper wire will have a hard time cashing in, at least in our province.
Scrap yard dealers in Alberta are now required to record the seller’s identification, along with the registration number of their vehicle.
Anyone with possible leads in the case is asked to contact Leduc RCMP or Crime Stoppers. (td)
