With the early snow melted away and the weather looking to cooperate the Mill Woods Golf Course decided to extend the season by kicking open the gates this morning.
Marty Winch is the head golf pro at the Mill Woods Golf Course, he says he and his clients are all pretty excited to keep on swingin’.
“Well, we saw the long range forecast and it’s going to be above plus nine, plus ten, we thought ‘this is great,’ the course is still playable, still in great shape so we thought, ‘let’s get it open.’ There’s only about three courses open in the city, so we’re going to try and take advantage of that and get some more golf in this season.”
Winch says they’d love to stay open for another month, though he doubts we’ll still be golfing in late November. He says they’ll stay open as long as the mercury stays above zero.
