With flu season underway, pharmacy students from the U of A have put together a video encouraging more people to roll up their sleeves.
The students used an innovative approach to communicate the benefits of flu immunization, answer some common immunization questions and highlight the important role pharmacists play in health care education.
Director and writer Daniel Leung said one of his goals was to reach the many young adults that slip the flu shot – thinking they are immune to influenza. “Getting the flu shot not only protects yourself, but also the ones that can get it. The high-risk populations like newborns, or your grandma or your grandpa.”
The video was shot at various locations at the University of Alberta.
The flu shot is free to any Albertan over the age of six months. You can get shots at your doctor’s office, many pharmacies, or at AHS clinics. (eb)
