This recent blast of warm air has pasted a grin on the cheeks of many people here in Edmonton, perhaps none more than the city’s golfing population.
Jerry Linquist runs the Lewis Estates Golf Course, and he said he’s always surprised when spring makes a second coming.
“October, when we were closed for 16 days we didn’t think we’d reopen, but look at this today, this whole week and the weather’s looking really good for next week. We’re booking tee times for next week too.”
The latest Lewis Estates has stayed open was November 24th, that was back in 2006. Linquist said he’d love to be open that late again this year, but he doubts this unseasonable weather will hold out that long, tho he says they’ll probably still be golfing in the second weekend of November.
