The Eskimos quest to be the beast of the east will continue. A 24-21 win at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton over the Tiger Cats has sent the Eskimos to the east final in Ottawa next Sunday. The big question for that game is will starting quarterback Mike Reilly be available? Reilly left the game early with a left arm/shoulder/wrist injury and post game would not rule out being in for the game in Ottawa. “I have no doubt that I’ll play in Ottawa, I’ve played through worse”
Coach Jason Maas called the injury an upper body injury and says a decision has not been made for next week.
White and Whyte led the Green and Gold to the win. John White had two TDs and 160 yards rushing while Sean Whyte was three for three on field goals, including the game winner from 9 yards out with seven seconds to play. The winning points were set up by a Kenny Ladler interception late in the game snuffing out the final offensive series for the Ti-Cats
The Eskimos looked like they would run away with the game, leading Hamilton 18-3 , but the Tiger Cats chipped away and got the game to a 21-21 tie with four minutes left.
The Eskimos travel home after the game in Hamilton, and will be back on the practice field on Wednesday. They will be in Ottawa on Sunday for the East Final against the RedBlacks.
