An investigation has begun into allegations of sexual assault at Edmonton’s military base, going back to the time period between 1978 and 1980.
The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service is looking into a claim about a babysitter sexually assaulting a child in military housing at CFB Edmonton – specifically 3rd Canadian Division Support Base Edmonton.
The allegation is that a teenage boy, who was not military, or a family member, was babysitting at base residential housing.
“We take all allegations of sexual assault seriously and conduct our investigations in a deliberate and comprehensive manner to determine the facts, analyze the evidence, and if warranted, lay appropriate charges, ” said Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Bolduc, Commanding Officer, Canadian Forces National Investigation Service. ” By making this public appeal through Crime Stoppers we encourage anyone with information about these reported assaults to come forward.”
