It seems like we’re off to a promising start this flu season.
Nearly 818,000 people have been vaccinated in the province already, with just under 289,000 in Edmonton alone.
Calgary is leading in vaccinations this year with nearly 318,000 people immunized in that zone.
Alberta Health Services says so far there have been no reported deaths related to the flu and only 95 people have been hospitalized, four of which were in Edmonton.
AHS says so far this year there are 266 lab-confirmed cases of Influenza A, 21 in Edmonton, and 13 lab-confirmed cases of Influenza B, four in Edmonton.
Immunization clinics remain open or you can get the shot at a pharmacy or your doctor, all free of charge. (twd)
