A large Sheriff’s sign is now posted outside of a home in the Glengarry community, just east of Northgate Centre.
It tells of a Community Safety Order barring the owner of 9103 – 137 Avenue from entering the home for three months, along with visitors to the home for one year.
This after it was determined the home was being used for illegal drug and prostitution-related activities.
Alberta Sheriffs, from the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit, say the investigation began back in April after a complaint the owner and his girlfriend were involved in drug activity.
Investigators say the owner was served with a warning letter, but the illegal activity continued.
Alberta’s Minister of Justice and Solicitor General Kathleen Ganley thanked investigators saying in a release “This kind of work is vital to protecting the neighbourhoods we call home.” (td)
