An Edmonton Transit bus needs repairs after yesterday’s police shooting.
ETS confirms a bus took a bullet in the windshield near 50 Street and 137 Avenue. Police shot a man brandishing what appeared to be a rifle. No one on the bus was injured, and ETS is offering counselling to staff who need it.
The shooting is under investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.
Global News has learned the man shot by police is Glenn “Occo” Ironchild, an Edmonton father with a lengthy criminal history that includes convictions for assault with a weapon, assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.
