A tough loss for members of the University of Alberta Golden Bears volleyball team in the final of the U Sports championship.
They fell three-sets-to-one to the Trinity Western Spartans in the national men’s championship game at the Saville Community Sports Centre on Sunday.
The Spartans were ranked No. 1, while the Golden Bears were ranked No. 7.
Taylor Arnett was the leader in kills for the Bears with 16, while Blake Scheerhoorn led the way in kills for the Spartans with 22.
Fifth-year setter Brett Walsh earned Player of the Match in his final game with the Bears, with 48 assists, eight digs, and one ace.
The Golden Bears were playing in the national volleyball final for the third time in four years. (td)
