Sweden’s Niklas Edin will play Canada’s Brad Gushue for gold at the World Men’s Curling Championship, in a rematch of the Page playoff 1-2 game that Gushue won 7-4.
The win forced Sweden to take on Switzerland’s Peter de Cruz in the semi-final on Saturday night for the right to advance, with the Swedes scoring a single point in the 11th end to win the game 6-5.
The Swiss will have to settle for a shot at bronze in a matchup against the United States, which is being skipped by John Shuster. The game begins at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
Canada and Sweden will decide matters in the final starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Northlands Coliseum. (td)
