Chris Scheetz is bringing the Orange Crush to Anaheim.
The CISN Country 103.9 morning host is in back in California for the first two games of the Edmonton Oilers Round 2 Stanley Cup playoff series against the Ducks.
He said he’s expecting even more Oilers fans in Anaheim than there were in San Jose.
“Flying in this morning there was certainly a lot of people coming to Los Angeles and to Anaheim for the game. And I think there’s going to be a whole lot of other people that are just in this area that are gonna be coming to the game tomorrow night. So looking for to an even bigger Orange Crush crowd.”
He said it’ll be interesting to see how the Ducks fans react to the Orange Crush.
“From 2006 I was at both the playoff rounds in San Jose and Anaheim, and I found the San Jose fans to be more passionate about their team. We’ll wait and see how the people in Anaheim are gonna respond to us tomorrow.”
With many Oilers fans making the trip south, Scheetz said they’ve even renamed the area for the occasion.
“The area where the Ducks play is actually in Orange County, so we’ve decided to rename it Orange Crush County for the next couple of weeks. So that’s gonna be our plan, is the Orange Crush comes down here and helps the Oilers crush the Ducks. That’s the theory anyway, and we’re certainly gonna do our best to try.”
Game time Wednesday is at 8:30 p.m., and the face off show starts at 6:00 p.m. on 630 CHED.
