The increasing cost of everything these days is hard on seniors who thought they would be OK.
I’m hearing from Larry and Linda, who went to get the same prescription filled that Linda has been using for 15 years.
It usually costs $25 with but this time it was $78.
It had been removed from the list of drugs that are covered under their medical insurance.
They say the druggist told them many drugs have been removed.
They could not afford $78 and left without the pills.
She’ll go back to her doctor so see if he can prescribe something less expensive.
As I hear from them, there is election talk in Ontario.
The NDP is promising pharmacare to cover 125 medications, including those needed for blood pressure, asthma and diabetes.
I realize I’m contrasting Alberta reality with Ontario NDP election promises, but it might be nice if the Alberta NDP was listening.
Let me know how drug prices are affecting you.
