A road near Commonwealth Stadium was closed for several hours Friday morning as police investigated a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle.
Officers were called to Stadium Road just south of 112 Street at around 7:40 a.m.
When they arrived they found a 26-year-old cyclist suffering from multiple injuries.
The investigation is in early stages but a release from the Edmonton Police Service said witnesses reported the cyclist was riding his bike east to west through the crosswalk and was hit by a southbound Kia Soul travelling in the outside lane.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No charges are pending at this time. Police said neither speed nor impairment are considered to be factors in the collision.
