Every editorial brings response. Some positive. Some negative.
So, just to head off any snide comments on this one, let me assure you that no, I have not been exempted from the NDP carbon tax.
I simply believe in credit where credit is due and credit is due for the Alberta NDP putting their historical hatred of pipelines aside and going to court to fight for the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.
The Federal Court of appeal has granted them intervenor status in the lawsuits filed by some B.C. communities and First Nations bands.
Alberta’s NDP government will argue the BC election results do not affect anything, because we already have federal and BC approval and you cannot reverse that, not even with the help of the BC Green Party.
We would be providing pipelines with permission.
We would not be pipeline squatters.
By the way, the NDP have some squatter rules to fix to gain a little currency with Alberta farmers, but that’s for another day.
For today, you may have to change your meaning of NDP from “no dang pipelines” to “Notley does pipelines”.
