A former Edmonton resident has become something of a guru on the do's and don'ts of Nature's Call.

Michael Sykes founded the International Center for Bathroom Etiquette 13 years ago, while studying at the University of Alberta.

Sykes, now a biophysicist in California, has developed an international reputation as ``the Emily Post of the Loo.'' His centre's website gets hundreds of hits a day from people seeking advice on the ABC's of Numbers One and Two.

Some of the sage advice -- it's not proper to talk in men's rooms and one should always turn on the fan when using the bathroom in someone else's home. He says the most asked questions centre around workplace washrooms.

Sykes says you should never take your work in there under any circumstances. And he adds it's "not a meeting place. Don't talk shop". (Edmonton Sun, ccg)
