The verdict is not guilty, from the murder trial stemming from the stabbing death of a man on Whyte Avenue in September of last year.
The jury hearing the trial of Ralph Pike, 33, acquitted him of second-degree murder, along with the lesser charge of manslaughter, in the death of Sean Auger, 24. Pike reportedly based his innocence on self-defence.
Pike was, however, found guilty of possession of a prohibited weapon. For that, reports say he received a 15-month jail term, which was covered by time already served in remand leading up to his trial.(The Edmonton Journal, bp, ccg)
