RCMP have laid a charge of attempted murder against a 42-year-old man in Whitecourt.
Staff Sergeant Rodney Koscielny says a 41-year-old woman walked into the detachment early Saturday morning and told officers she had been brutally assaulted in a domestic dispute.
"The allegations were quite serious," says Koscielny. "That our victim did lose consciousness at one point and she was threatened, and of course that resulted in a male by the name of Timmie Reeves being charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful confinement, overcoming resistance and two counts of uttering threats." Koscielny says the accused is known by police to exhibit behaviours that are "concerning to public safety."
Reeves is now being held in custody until January 12th, when he is to appear in Whitecourt Provincial Court. (td, ccg)
