Saturday is the first delivery day for 630 CHED's Santa's Anonymous. Over 16 hundred drivers will help bring toys to needy children across the city.
Organizer Daryl Hooke says delivery day can be a bit chaotic at the warehouse at 12345-121 street, so he has some tips for first-time helpers. He says, "Make sure you have a valid drivers license when you come in. It's a great idea to deliver in pairs so one person can navigate while the other person drives. Within the depot during our wrapping time we don't allow people under 16 just because we have to make sure everything is done right. But, for this particular occasion if you want to deliver and take the entire family with you so they can share in the experience its the perfect opportunity to do that." He also reminds you to dress for the weather.
Delivery officially starts at 10:00 Saturday morning, but Daryl says the real keeners arrive as early as 7:00. The last group of drivers will be sent out around 2:00 PM. Deliveries will continue Sunday morning from 10:00 until every toy has found a new home. And, Daryl says it's never too late to drop off a donation. (jg)
