If you cross 111th street during your commute - take note! Commissioning of the South LRT Extension will result in some temporary closures.
Starting today, the 111 street intersections with 29A Avenue/Saddleback Road, the Whitemud, and 34 Avenue all the way to 57 Avenue will all endure partial closures.
There will be no left turns allowed in any direction during the closures, and they will obstruct both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
The closures cannot be scheduled due to the nature of the testing.
The trains will start out slow, and ETS inspectors will manually shut down the intersections. As the trains speed up, signal lights and gates will be active. (scb,blb)
