People in the neighbourhood of Capilano got the opportunity Monday evening to convince the Public school board not to close their local school.
Parent Misty Kuefler was there and says she left the meeting feeling helpless. She doesn't think anybody walked out of the meeting hopeful at all.
Aside from Capilano School (10720-54th Street), the other institutions potentially facing closure include McCauley, Parkdale and Fulton Place schools. The district is also looking at closing the elementary program at Spruce Avenue School.
Parents with kids enrolled in Fulton Place School (10310-56th Street) will have the chance to address the school board on Wednesday evening, (Mar. 17th). The final decisions will be made by the board of trustees on April 13th. (rp, ccg)
