An intense summer storm caused a tornado and dumped golf ball sized hail on areas near Calgary, Friday afternoon.
Environment Canada meteorologist Chris Wielki says the storm system passed just west of Sundre, producing a tornado that was spotted by a trained weather watcher and by a pilot in a hail seeding aircraft. He says there are no reports of damage from the tornado so far.
Wielki says there is still a weather warning for areas just west of Cochrane.
That system hasn't resulted in any reports of tornadoes, but Wielki says it has produced golf-ball-sized hail in the area. (The Canadian Press, rp, ccg)
