"We are getting together a bunch of random strangers downtown to clean up Oliver-area." Getting together a group of strangers may sound odd... but it's just another day for Edmonton Twitter users who are gathering together to clean up downtown Edmonton today.
This afternoon, a group of about 20 people who met via the internet site
Twitter
, are cleaning up the Oliver neighbourhood. It's all apart of the Capital City Cleanup program.

is spear-heading the 'Cleanup, Tweetup' and he explains why they chose the Oliver area. "Well actually, my wife and I live there, so we signed up to be block captains this year. We decided it'd be a great excuse to get everyone together, have some beverages and clean up downtown, and just have a great time."
If you'd like to register to Adopt-A-Block and help clean up the city,
registrations are open until May 1st
