A friend says a young Toronto man found murdered in Fort McMurray earlier this week was a drug dealer who saw the oilsands city as a gold mine.
The 20-year old who was found dead was McFrinn Paddy, a man who was wounded in a drive-by shooting that killed one of his friends two years ago in a crime riddled Toronto neighbourhood where gun gangsters and drug thugs rule the streets. That headline grabbing shooting, that left Paddy with a bullet in the chest, followed a fist fight at a flea market.
The Journal reports Daniel Asarfo-Adjei, 17, found murdered in Fort McMurray in a drug feud last November, was from the same sad neighbourhood and was an acquaintance of Paddy.
Someone familiar with both murder victims says: "You have dudes from all over Toronto that go there for that purpose." (EM, ccg)
