Health officials in Alberta will role out a new H1N1 vaccination plan Tuesday that will give priority to pregnant women and children under five.
Health Minister Ron Liepert says after this highest priority group, people under 65 with chronic health conditions will be next in line for the shots. He says overwhelming demand and a slowdown in delivery from the federal government led to a significant vaccine shortage.
Clinics were suspended on the weekend after nearly 400,000 Albertans had been immunized last week.
Swine flu has become an increasingly volatile issue for Premier Stelmach's Tory government. NDP Leader Brian Mason forced an emergency debate in the legislature on Tuesday to talk about swine flu issues.

While more vaccine doses are on the way, flu clinics planned for Tuesday and Wednesday at the Boyle McCauley Health Centre are now canceled.
Executive Director Cecilia Blasatti says she expects more information on Thursday about when the vaccination program will resume for those most at risk in the homeless community. (ly, ccg, cp)
