It was almost a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing during a police pursuit in west Edmonton early today (Monday).
Police with the help of Air One stopped a Japanese sports car that was stolen from Sherwood Park in the area of 127th Street and 129th Avenue a little after 1:00AM.
Two people fled, but the one who jumped from the left side of the car, the one police wrongly believed was driving, was soon in custody.
While officers dealt with her, a man sneaked back to the car, jumped behind the wheel of the "right-hand drive" Mitsubishi and the chase was on again. The car was spiked belted on 137th Avenue in the the west end and again the driver ran away.
This time an EPS dog pinned him in the "Jaws of Justice" and he will be charged after medical attention for a head injury. (EM, ccg)
