The leader of the provincial NDP is challenging two Tory turncoats to put their defections to the Wild Rose Alliance to the ultimate test, and let voters decide if they made the right move.

Brian Mason says Heather Forsyth and Rob Anderson need to seek a mandate as Wildrose Alliance members from the voters in their respective constituencies.

"Alberta voters in these ridings have a right to make that choice," says Mason in a release, Tuesday morning, the day after the announcement of the defections was made. "The Wildrose Alliance platform states that power needs to be put back in the hands of Albertans through meaningful electoral reform including MLA recall, fixed election dates and citizen initiated referenda."

 

Mason is calling on Anderson and Forsyth to listen to people in their constituencies and put their new Wild Rose affiliation on the ballot. (em, ccg)
