There will be no security fence when an Edmonton man who beheaded a passenger on a Greyhound bus takes a walk at a Manitoba mental hospital.
Reports out of Winnipeg say plans to put up a fence to protect the public when Vince Li goes for walks on the grounds of the hospital are no longer considered neccesary.
Instead two security officers and a staff member will be with Li at all times. They will have access to handcuffs and one will carry an emergency pager.
Li is medicated and not deemed to be a security risk, but the RCMP will be advised when the escorted walks begin.
Vince Li was found criminally not responsible for the murder of Timothy McLean on a Greyhound bus two years ago today (Friday). (EM, ccg)
