The Edmonton Rush have announced plans to play their provincial rivals the Calgary Roughnecks in a pre-season game at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge on Saturday, December 19th at 7:30pm. The two teams will meet three times in the regular season beginning Saturday, January 30th at Rexall Place.
The Rush have signed Corey Small, their first round draft pick from this year to a contract. Small is a product of the University of Albany where he scored 31 goals in 10 games last season,
Goaltenders Matt Disher and Brandon Atherton have agreed to contracts. Disher re-joins the Rush as he was selected by the team in the dispersal draft of the Portland Lumber-Jax. Disher finished last season third in NLL in save percentage. Atherton spent last summer with the Coquitlam Adanacs of the WLA.
The Rush begin the regular season on January 15th on the road against the Washington Stealth.
