Edmonton Eskimos' middle linebacker Maurice Lloyd has signed a contract extension that will see him wear green and gold until the end of the 2011 CFL season.
Lloyd, 26, is coming off his first year with the Eskimos, after spending the previous three seasons in Saskatchewan. In 2009, Lloyd played in 14 regular-season games, recording 55 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, four quarterback sacks, three tackles for a loss, and he also forced a fumble.
"You know its going to be a wonderful experience to come back in 2010 with an extended contract," said Lloyd, Friday, "And also to play in the 2010 Grey Cup".
Lloyd has also agreed to a pay cut to allow the organization to make other player moves for next season.(dc/bp)
