Reddox sent down; Oilers recall two

    11/26/2009

The Oilers have made some moves up front following Wednesday night's loss to Los Angeles.

The Oil reassigned forward Liam Reddox to the farm in Springfield (AHL) Thursday, while calling up not one, but two players.
Ryan O'Marra and Colin McDonald are coming up to the big club, and that leads to speculation that the injury suffered by Ales Hemsky in Wednesday's loss to the Kings will probably keep him out of action for at least one game. Hemsky was drilled into the boards in the second period, and suffered what many believe was a shoulder injury. He did not return to the game. The Oilers weren't providing any information about the injury at practice Thursday morning.

McDonald is a former second-round pick of the Oilers, in 2003. The 6"3, 205-pound right winger has never dressed for an NHL game. He has nine points in 21 games in the AHL this season.

O'Marra, meantime, is former first-rounder of the Islanders, who came to Edmonton along with Robert Nilsson as part of the Ryan Smyth trade in 2007. The young centreman has eight points in 21 games in Springfield, after making his NHL debut with the Oilers earlier this season.

Reddox had two assists in nine games with the Oilers, after starting the season in Springfield.

The Oilers face-off against the San Jose Sharks, Friday night at Rexall Place (7:30 p.m., 630 CHED).(bp)
