It's back to the bargaining table for Alberta Health Services and the largest union representing Alberta nurses.
The UNA was left in shock earlier this month when AHS tabled it's bargaining requests, proposing the biggest rollback seen in Alberta. The two sides were back at the table yesterday, and will finish off the week in bargaining meetings.
Nine more meetings will be held between then end of the month and mid-April, at which point both sides hope to have a new contract.
Alberta Health is looking for drastic cuts to employee benefits, as well as a reduction in rest time between shifts, while the UNA wants a five per cent wage increase over the three-year contract. (lk)
