•Left turns will be permitted from 97 Street northbound to 103A Avenue westbound.

2009 CANADA DAY EVENT ROAD CLOSURES - The following road closures will be in effect on Canada Day:

Canada Day Road Race - 6:30 am to 9:30 am
•River Valley Road (westbound closed)
•Groat Bridge (one lane southbound)
•Emily Murphy Park Road (closed)
•Saskatchewan Drive in the Windsor Park Community (closed).

Canada Day Silly Summer Parade on Whyte Avenue - 11am to 2pm
•Whyte Avenue from 103 Street to 109 Street (closed)
•104 Street (Calgary Trail) from 78 Avenue to Whyte Avenue (closed)
•108 Street from 78 Avenue to Whyte Avenue (closed)
•78 Avenue from 104 Street to 108 Street (closed)

Canada Day Downtown Fireworks Display - Fireworks at 11pm
Motorists can expect traffic delays two hours prior to the fireworks and one and a half-hours following the show. The City asks the public for their patience and courtesy to help make the trip home from the fireworks safe for everyone.

The following road closures will be in effect for the Downtown Fireworks display;

- River Valley Road and Fortway Drive (closed)

9:45 pm
- Walterdale Hill and Queen Elizabeth Hill (closed)
- 104 Street south of 96 Avenue (closed)
- 107 Street from 98 Avenue to Jasper Avenue (closed)
- Sidewalk closed High Level Bridge

10:15 pm
- High Level Bridge (closed)
- Walterdale Bridge (closed)
- Menzies LRT Bridge (closed)
- 109 Street from 87 Avenue to High Level Bridge/97 Avenue (closed)

Increased parking bans will be necessary to maximize traffic and pedestrian flow. With minimal parking in the area, Edmontonians are encouraged to take the bus or LRT. Usual parking restrictions will be in effect. Vehicles illegally parked on parkland or city boulevard will be tagged.
